Concert: Roya Naldi, Jazz Singer - The Selfhelp Home

Based in Chicago, IL, Roya Naldi is a jazz singer and bandleader specializing in jazz style of the 1920s and 1930s.
Roya Naldi is one of the few vocalists that sings in the truly authentic style of the 1920s and 30s, crooning with a style that is romantic and passionate. She draws inspiration from many notable singers of that era, including Annette Hanshaw, Bing Crosby, and Cliff Edwards to name a few. Aiming to recreate the beautiful and nuanced vocal style of the time, Roya Naldi doesn’t try to copy but rather to give new life to a type of jazz that has kept its charm and allure for almost a century.
Roya Naldi makes regular appearances at Chicago’s stylish Drake Hotel and The Drifter Chicago alongside jazz pianist Paul Asaro. She also plays regularly with The Chicago Cellar Boys jazz band.
Roya Naldi has been featured at the historic Green Mill Cocktail Lounge with The Fat Babies jazz band, Chicago’s own Honky Tonk BBQ, and swing dances throughout the midwest and beyond.
Accompanied by some of the finest vintage jazz musicians in Chicago, what Roya Naldi creates is always a captivating and musically alluring. She will surely transport you back to the jazz age, if only for a moment.
