Live Concert: Leah Shoshana
November 22, 2022 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm
Leah Shoshanah (aka Shosha Wolf) is a jazzy, funky, soulful, spiritual, folky singer-songwriter from Chicago. She writes music for people of all ages and has been known to get audiences singing, dancing, laughing, crying and soothed into meditation. She’s got an “angelic” and “dynamic” voice, and has been featured on stages in the USA and Europe. With many sides and lots of depth, her shows are always unique— at times intimate and earthy, at times funky and with a band, and at times playful and silly.
Shoshanah is also a cantorial soloist and a composer of original Jewish music, identities that ebb and flow depending on the venue and occasion. An educator since 2008, with training in improv theater and experiential education, she has learned to “meet people where they are at”, which sometimes leads to a break from the set or a departure from songs in spontaneous improvisation. A dynamic artist, she can at once play huge clubs and also show up to support in lifecycle events, like funerals, weddings, coming-of-age ceremonies (b’nai mitzvahs) as an empathetic, energetic and healing spiritual leader of song.
