Reducing Stress and Changes in Dementia Care

October 27, 2020 @ 12:00 pm
You Are Invited to a Continuing Education Presentation:
Reducing Stress and Changes in Dementia Care
Presented by Dan Kuhn and Colleen Ceh Becvar

In partnership with The Selfhelp Home, please join us for this brand new presentation by Dan Kuhn and Colleen Ceh Becvar. This presentation will focus on individuals with Alzheimer’s and other types of dementia and explore how people often depend upon cues from familiar surroundings and rely on established routines. When this sense of security is disrupted, as in the case of a move, change in room, admission to the hospital or isolation due to new health guidelines, the person with dementia can become disoriented, anxious and agitated. We will provide strategies for these different transitions.
