Tugan Sokhiev takes the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra in a concert dedicated to Russian music. Composers Rimsky-Korsakov and Tchaikovsky are in the spotlight. 

This concert opens with Scheherazade, a symphonic suite composed in 1888 by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov. Inspired by the tales of the Arabian Nights, this work shines with its shimmering colors and oriental atmosphere. Particularly evocative, his music transports his listener to a fantasized Arabia, while depicting in music the changing character of Sultan Shahriar.
