Business office employee exhibits photography in Italy! Meet Patricia Korous

By Patricia Korous, Photographer

When I’m not working as an Assistant Accounting Manager in The Selfhelp Home Business office… I am a Photographer!

About Trish

Hi… I’m Trish. I have been taking photographs for many years, having grown up with a father that took amazing photos of his travels throughout America and Canada, and had a darkroom in my grandmother’s basement. Around 2006, I began to look at photography as more than what one
did on holidays, and started experimenting with self portraiture and still life photography. Soon, I returned to film. While I prefer film, I use digital, too.

I’m mostly self-taught and have been greatly influenced by Julia Margaret Cameron and Edward Steichen. I always use natural or ambient light.

I’ve had solo exhibitions locally in Chicago, and participate in group exhibits in Italy in 2017 and currently in 2024, as well as several online exhibits.

The exhibit I’m currently participating in is titled “The End“. It is being shown in a gallery in Santo Stefani Belbo, Italy, which is a little
over an hour southeast of Turin located in the north of Italy.

About the Exhibit

The End is two-part collective work made of words and images that tell the story of the metamorphosis of an idea. The idea starts from the intentions on which it is rooted, to become in turn a new note, a temporary goal always aimed at another and continuous gestation.

The exhibit begins as one ascends the staircase at the Cesare Pavese Foundation entrance.

About the Show

The curator, Claudio, – is an avid marathoner. He invited a selection of writers and artists to respond to the emotions he experiences during his ultra marathons – with the intention of publishing a book. This exhibit is the culmination of these letters and artworks. These works delve deeply into the human soul. The final result of the book demonstrates not only the desire of a person to reveal himself to others, but also shows how the soul has no need to hide his own vulnerabilities.
