Your Help Is Still Needed! Donate Now To Our COVID-19 Relief

Now more than ever, we need your generous support. We urge you to continue and even add to your contribution during this time.

Each spring, we depend on the generosity of our community as we come together for our annual Celebrating the Arts fundraiser. This year we had planned for a luncheon and viewing of 42nd Street on May 31st. With the safety and concern of our entire community in the forefront of our mind, we have decided to cancel this event.

However, your generous donation is needed more than ever. During this unprecedented time, we are facing lost revenue from this canceled fundraising event, lower revenues due to a hold on incoming residents for the health and safety of our residents and staff, and unanticipated additional expenses for staffing and equipment needs directly associated with COVID-19.

We invite you to help us continue to provide stellar service to residents now and into the future by making a gift today. Please consider sponsoring our “non-event” at one of the levels indicated below. All gifts are 100% tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.

To make a gift of stocks/securities

Appreciated securities are perhaps the most cost-effective assets to use in making a gift. When you transfer ownership of long-term holdings to The Selfhelp Home, you receive a charitable deduction for their full market value — and you incur no capital gains tax (subject to IRS deduction limits). According to IRS regulations, the date of your gift corresponds to the date we receive the transfer.

Please alert us in advance about the stock and number of shares you plan to give. You can do so by e-mailing Director of Donor Relations Kim Romain at [email protected] or calling (773) 863-3088. If you need to speak to someone 24/7, you can call SCHWAB ALLIANCE @ 800-515-2157 (24/7) with any questions.
